A reader writes a very kind letter about Mary, Mother of the Son

Sez he:I am a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Seattle starting my first year of the theology at Mount Angel Seminary. I just wanted to take the time to express my gratitude for your trilogy, Mary Mother of the Son. Even though I grew up praying the rosary every night with my family and was involved in my parish Legion of Mary, I was distant to Mary sharing many of your same fears. I did not see the relevance of having a relationship with Mary and saw her as just another saint. About 2 months ago however, I started thinking about praying the rosary more and about 3 weeks ago I started an ISP retreat for incoming theologians which is predominantly silent. During this time, I recalled a pivotal point in my life when Mary was very present but I had forgotten about her. Shortly after, I was in the library looking at all of the theology books when I got a sudden urge to look at the Mary section. I went over and your trilogy jump right out at me and I felt the drive to read all three of them which is a big deal for me because I am NOT a reader by nature. As I continued with each book, I came to a deeper and fuller appreciation of Mary’s role not only as a mother but also as a guide for all of us Christians. It was funny because when I would have an objection of sorts, you would answer it in the following page or the following chapter. While reading your trilogy I felt a ton of bricks hit me everytime I realized that Mary really was the new ark, the Mary myths were false and that Mary is the one who really points to
